Lakein's Questions
categories: Time management, Miscellaneous
In his book How to Get Control of Your Time and Your Life, Alan Lakein uses something he calls "Lakein's Questions," to help people focus their time and attention, and simplify tasks. Lakein's Questions

1. What is the best use of my time now?
2. Am I wasting my time?
3. Is there a way to simplify this task?

You can use the first question as you plan your day, or when you finish a task and are ready to move on to the next thing.

Question #2 is a good question to ask yourself anytime you notice yourself doing something mindlessly, like checking your email or surfing the internet because you don't know what else to do.

The third question will help you to not over-complicate tasks or projects, and focus on simple and elegant solutions.

THE QUOTES

"Believe that time is going to help you do what you want."
~ William Morris Hunt

"Time is what we want most, but what we use worst."
~ William Penn
